Stockport Heritage Magazine edit
To celebrate their acquisition of charity status and launch a campaign to save Staircase House, Stockport Heritage Trust held an event with civic guests in 1988 and members Jean and Steve Cliffe showed the mayor and mayoress a recent copy of their new paid-for magazine promoting heritage interest in Stockport and district which they had started to publish.
The magazine was launched the previous year as a volunteer based project written by and for the residents,past and present, of Stockport. It is still published on this basis. Its appearance and content has changed with the times, but Stockport Heritage Magazine still supports the aims of Stockport Heritage Trust.
