Category:Sunken forest at Borth sands

English: The ancient forest between Borth and Ynyslas in Ceredigion, Wales was submerged between 4,500 and 6,000 years ago, the southern end being the last to be submerged. The tree stumps were preserved by the acid anaerobic peat in which they grew. Bronze Age human and animal fossil footprints and a walkway have also been found. They are visible at low tide.
