Category:Surrey bus routes 426 and 446

English: Two routes linking Staines with Woking. Route 426 was withdrawn on 27 August 2010, in favour of more buses on route 446 (see below).
  • Route 426: Staines, Penton Park, Thorpe Park theme park, Chertsey, St Peter's Hospital, Ottershaw, Six Crossroads Roundabout, Woodham, Sheerwater, Maybury Road/Walton Road, Woking, Woking Morrison's.
  • Route 446: Staines, Penton Park, Thorpe Park theme park, Chertsey, St Peter's Hospital, Ottershaw, Row Town, Coombelands, Addlestone, New Haw, West Byfleet, Sheerwater, Maybury Road/Walton Road, Woking, Woking Morrison's.

As part of Phase 1 of Surrey County Council's Bus Review, route 426 was withdrawn. The service from St Peter's Hospital and Ottershaw to Woking was replaced by the diversion of route 557, which was changed to run directly from St Peter's Hospital and Ottershaw to Woking. Woodham and Sheerwater were/are served by other routes anyway. Route 446 was increased to half-hourly to maintain the service over the common section (as well as where route 471 had been withdrawn from in West Byfleet). Route 446's Sunday service was increased to run every 90 minutes from every 120. As well as this, the 446 was changed to run directly along Old Woking Road in West Byfleet (serving the stops at Waitrose), and not calling at West Byfleet railway station or Madeira Road. The main daytime service became operated commercially by Abellio Surrey. The changes came into effect on 28 August 2010, therefore route 426's last day was 27 August 2010.
