English: The old basilica Saint Sophia in Sofia, Bulgaria. Dating to the 6th century CE (reconstructed in 20th century). Early Christian (Late Roman Antiquity) architecture. In the 14th century, the church gave its name to present days Bulgarian capital that has been originally known consecutively as Serdica and Sredets through the last more than 2000 years until the turn of the 19 c.
