Category:Thames River Bridge (Connecticut, 1889)

English: This bridge was constructed between Groton and New London in 1889, completing the Shore Line rail route between Boston and New York. In 1919, a new rail bridge was built to the north, and the older bridge was used for automobiles (and streetcars from 1923 to 1928). It was removed after the Gold Star Memorial Bridge opened in 1943.
