English: The Cabildo was the colonial era government building of Louisiana. After the Louisiana Purchace it served as the City Hall of New Orleans into the 1840s, after which it was a courthouse until about 1910. Since repurposed as a museum, it fronts the Chartres Street side of Jackson Square in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
