Titlows Music House was originally opened by Ralph Titlow in 1934 for most of its existence it was located at 946 Hamilton Street.

The store primarily sold musical instruments, sheet music and was a ticket agency for local concerts by touring musicians. The sheet music selection at Titlows was the largest variety available on the east coast. The store sold a wide variety of accessories as well. The staff at the store also repaired instruments and provided piano tuning. A music school so customers could learn to play instruments was also provided.

Originally opened at at 508 Linden Street., the store moved in 1939 to 38 North 9th Street, then moved to 946 Hamilton Street in 1950. Though he relocated to a larger space for a few years, Titlow moved back to his building in the 1960s because of increasing rent.

Ralph Titlow retired from the business and it was sold in 1978 to Tom Heinze. Heinze started working for Titlow in 1947, when he was a student at Allentown High School. Part of a family of musicians, Heinze taught students how to play woodwind instruments. He became the store manager in 1978 when Titlow retired.

Titlow passed in December 1981 at the age of 71. After Titlow passed, Heinze bought the business. The business closed at the end of December 1997 when Heinze also retired.
