English: As per the sovereign's wish, the recumbent effigy is supported by six consoling angels while the sides of the sarcophagus represent the life of Saint Bartholomew, his patron saint. The rear panel takes up the rota Fortunae, alluding to the vagaries of human life and thwarted love. The sarcophagus rests on six dogs that will always remain faithful to him.

El panel posterior retoma el tema de la "rueda de la Fortuna", en alusión a los vaivenes de la vida humana y el amor frustrado. El sarcófago descansa en seis perros quien siempre sólos fueron fieles.
Français : Suivant le désir du souverain, le gisant est supporté par six anges consolateurs tandis que les côtés du sarcophage représentent la vie de saint Barthélémy, son saint patron. La face arrière reprend le thème de la Roue de Fortune, faisant allusion aux aléas de la vie humaine et aux amours contrariées. Le sarcophage repose sur six chiens qui seuls surent lui rester toujours fidèles.

O painel traseiro retoma o tema de roda da Fortuna, aludindo aos caprichos da vida humana e ao amor frustrado. O sarcófago assenta em seis cães que lhe foram sempre fieis.
