Français : Le Grand Château, reconstruit vers 1760 par Jean-Baptiste Guillaume van ZELLER de RODERS seigneur de Santes, devint en 1785 la propriété de Gilles-Xavier-Casimir de FONTAINE, qui avait acheté la seigneurie de Santes. Le château était construit au milieu d'un vaste parc au centre de l’ancien fief de Maugré. Bombardé durant la guerre de 1914-1918, il fut rasé en 1932 pour construire le château BERNARD devenu en 1975 l’hôtel de ville.
English: The Grand Château, rebuilt around 1760 by Jean-Baptiste Guillaume van ZELLER de RODERS lord of Santes, became in 1785 the property of Gilles-Xavier-Casimir de FONTAINE, who had purchased the lordship of Santes. The castle was built in the middle of a vast park in the center of the former stronghold of Maugré. Bombed during the 1914-1918 war, it was razed in 1932 to build the BERNARD castle which became the town hall in 1975.
