English: Media related to U.S. Route 99, a former 1,600-mile (2,600 km) Numbered Highway in California, Oregon, and Washington in the United States, that connected Mexican Federal Highway 5 (in Baja, Mexico) with British Columbia Highway 99 (in British Columbia, Canada). During its existence (1926-1972) it was the main north-south Numbered Highway on the West Coast of the country. In 1964, Interstate 5 began replacing it as the main transportation corridor in the area. Large portions of the former highway are now part of California State Route 99, Oregon Route 99, and Washington State Route 99.
