Category:United Congregational Church (Little Compton, Rhode Island)
English: The United Congregational Church located on Meeting House Lane at the corner of South Commons Road in the Little Compton Common Historic District in Little Compton, Rhode Island, was built in 1832 in the Greek Revival style, with additions in the Victorian Gothic style in 1872 and 1874. Originally a plain meeting house, the belfry tower and spire and front of the building were the later additions. The congregation dates to 1704, with the first church built in 1724. That building was demolished in 1832, and the timbers were used to construct the new meeting house. (Sources: NRHP HD nomination and "History")
