Category:Van Gogh Exhibition Vienna 2008
The point of this exhibition is, that it is the first one ever to focus on the artistic unity between van Gogh's draughtsmanship and his radically new use of colour.
In 1990, there had been most remarkable exhibitions in Amsterdam's Van Gogh Museum as well as in the Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo, but the latter had focused on drawings, the quite distant Van Gogh Museum on paintings.
The Albertina exhibition of some 140 van Gogh works from more than 60 lenders around the world is claimed to be the largest presentation of this artist's oeuvre since the Amsterdam jubilee exhibition in 1990. This show of paintings, major watercolours and drawings will be open until 8 December 2008.
