Vince's Steak Shop was founded by Vince M. Cocca in 1957.

Origionally, it was a small basement operation from his house at 7th and Water Streets. Cocca spent many a dinnertime making steak sandwiches and selling them from his home.

In 1963, Vince opened up a restraunt on Walbert Avenue called "Vince's Drive-In and Minature Golf" which he operated until 1981. Vince’s then become a staple at regional fairs and festivals, including the Allentown, Bloomsburg and Schnecksville fairs, and its food trucks serve an increasing number of customers at local breweries, distilleries and wineries. Vince Cocca Jr. took over the family business in the mid-1970s, growing the company’s customer base through concession stands over the next few decades.

In 1985, Cocca purchaced a small booth at the southwest corner of the Allen Street Shopping Center, which was origionally a Food Fair Gas Station. He converted what was a 7 1/2 by 24-Foot glass booth into a double-drive though steak shop, basically to suppliment his income from his concession operations.

A stroke forced Vince Cocca into partial retirement in 1989. in 1995, the shop at 15th and Allen Street closed when the shopping center was expanded. For a number of years after that, Vince's operated from a shop in Trexlertown at 1091 Mill Creek Road.

In 2014, a new retail restraunt opened at 806 Hamilton Street, replacing Tony Luke's. However that closed in June 2016 so the company could focus more on the mobile aspects of the buisness. Vince's however remains in Allentown, as Vince Jr.and his brother Chris continues to operate a concession stand inside PPL Center.

The founder of the buisness, Vince M. Cocca, Sr. passed in March, 2008.
