English: The first unmanned flight of the high-altitude balloon Volga was performed in 1959. In 1962 the stratonauts Yevgeny Andreev and Pyotr Dolgov made stratospheric jumps from Volga: Andreev jumped from an altitude of 25,458 m (83,524 feet), Dolgov left the cabin at an altitude of 28,640 m (93,963 feet). The jump of Dolgov had a tragic end: he died in the air because of the depressurization of his suit.
Русский: Первый беспилотный полёт стратостата «Волга» был осуществлён в 1959 году. В 1962 году в ходе пилотируемого полёта «Волги» стратонавты Е. Н. Андреев и П. И. Долгов выполнили высотные прыжки с парашютом: Андреев катапультировался на высоте 25 458 м, Долгов покинул кабину на высоте 28 640 м. Прыжок Долгова завершился трагически: стратонавт погиб в воздухе из-за разгерметизации скафандра.
