English: The Wingham Vampire Jet Monument is a de Havilland Vampire mounted on a column, donated by the Manning River Branch of the Air Force Association located in Central Park, Wingham and unveiled on 14th August 1971 by Air Vice Marshal William Edwin Townsend. The memorial commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).

During the First World War, airships and other aircraft were used for military reconnaissance. Eight Australian Flying Corps (A.F.C.) became part of the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) and were attached to the British Flying Corps. The Australian Air Corps replaced the A.F.C. in January 1920 and became the Australian Air Force on 31 March 1921 and with the King's consent, became the Royal Australian Air Force on 13 August 1921.
