Nederlands: De Penitentiaire Inrichting Wolvenplein is een uit 1856 daterend gevangeniscomplex in het centrum van de Nederlandse stad Utrecht. Vandaag de dag vormt het de oudste penitentiaire inrichting van Nederland die nog gebruikt wordt in de vorm van een huis van bewaring. Het gevangenisgebouw met 2 dienstwoningen, een op het terrein aanwezig kerkgebouw (1903), en de ringmuur met hekwerk zijn een rijksmonument.
English: Wolvenplein Penitentiary in the city of Utrecht, the oldest prison still in use in the Netherlands. The prison was built around 1856 in an era when corporal punishment and forced labour were replaced by solitary confinement. Around 130 people can be jailed here, until circa the year 1900 including 19 females. In 1917 the regime with solitary confinement became less strict and in the years after World War 2 the system as is more or less in use today became the new standard. The main prison building with two staff houses, the church (1903) on the complex, and the surrounding brick wall with iron fence are declared national monuments.
