@Jarnsax, I think more than 90% are published in NYC and can be categorized by year. While I'm categorizing Books about aviation by year I found many books from NYC, from London, from Chicago and from Washington DC anro (talk) 16:22, 23 May 2024 (UTC)

Yeah, I'd noticed, lol. As I've been working on going through "PDF files" one at a time and actually looking at the file (instead of the page) I've been adding the places (and the year cats) that are actually on the title page, instead of (usually) being shoved in front of the publisher. I'm also actually checking both ends for a colophon, and sorting them under the publishers and printers.

I've also found a fair number that where described as "US" publications, but actually named cities in several countries (so add that stuff).

I'm also generally trying (if there is a category for the book) to move categories that aren't specific to "the file" there. Jarnsax (talk) 21:22, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
