Category talk:Coats of arms of families by country

Title of catEdit

The title of the category is somewhat problematic because except for a tiny number of countries coats of arms do not belong to families they belong solely to the individual or entity to which they were granted. They pass down to the heir of that person, not to all heirs of that person. It is quite incorrect (and often illegal) for someone with the last name "James" for instance to use the "family arms" of James. (I'm sure it'll probably be a while before someone responds, so when you do can you ping me on my talkpage?) Thanks! fr33kman -s- 00:11, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
