The category heading now reads, "This category is for the Elk (Cervus canadensis). For Moose (Alces alces), see Category:Moose in heraldry." I think this is wrong, however, because the Northern Irish COA—the only one now included in the category—refers to the Irish elk, which is Megaloceros giganteus. Also, the plural of "elk" is normally "elk", so it should probably not be "Category:Elks in heraldry" (unless members of the friendly society of Elks are intended!). I think I'll be bold and create a category for Irish elk in heraldry. The current category won't be empty, however, since the COA of the state of Michigan belongs here. QuartierLatin1968 (talk) 23:47, 2 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
