"Russian" and USSR are not synonymous

edit

I have no idea why this page used to label her "Russian". https://www.ewrc-results.com/profile/16756-Inessa-Tushkanova/ states she is driving for Ukraine and she lived in Ukraine her whole life. Her Russian Wikipedia page also says nothing about why she could be labelled "Russian". — Yulia Romero • Talk to me!

I did find this article on the website of Ukrainianska Pravda that states "in 2007, she moved to Moscow and even won the Russian Racing Championship, but returned to Ukraine after the Maidan and the occupation of Crimea." But current Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky also lived in Moscow for a while. Just because a person lived in Russia does not make them automatically "Russian" nor citizens of Russia. If she moved back to Ukraine because of Ukrainian patriotic feelings it is even wierd (at best) to label her "Russian". — Yulia Romero • Talk to me!
