What is this category intended to cover?

It currently has the following subcategories:

  • .NET (a software framework for developing all kinds of Microsoft Windows software, not specifically related to the Internet)
  • Markup languages (systems for annotating text; not used for programming and not related specifically to the Internet)
  • OOHDM (a method for developing web-based application software; thus related specifically to the World Wide Web rather than the Internet in general)
  • PHP (a general-purpose scripting language)
  • Stylesheets (an expression of presentation of content, separated from the content itself; not used for programming and not specifically related to the Internet)
  • Web design (the process of planning and designing the layout and presentation of websites; thus related specifically to the World Wide Web rather than the Internet in general; designing is not programming)
  • Wiki (a class of websites which use simplified markup language and enable collaboration; related specifically to the World Wide Web; not related to programming)
