Historical note

Carver was the first elected governor of the first English government in New England, that of the Mayflower Compact, which was signed while the Mayflower was anchored off the location of the future Provincetown. The government shortly became that of Plymouth Colony, settled in the subsequent landing.Botteville (talk) 02:51, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
