Standards Organisations? edit

There is a difference between laboratories that run tests in accordance with standards and organisations that actually author and publish standards. This is a different level of national accreditation. As an example, DIBt accredits test labs and also publishes its own standards. But DIBt does not run any tests. The same thing goes for the Standards Council of Canada. It authors documents, accredits national test labs and it accredits standards writing organisations, which in turn author standards and conduct testing as per standards. The same thing could be said for ANSI So what is really meant by "Standards Organisations", if not "Standards Writing Organisations"? --Achim Hering (talk) 17:33, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
