Subcategories needed, but how?

It's obvious this category needs new subcategories; Not just by Borough or by pre-MUTCD Borough-specific standards, but by type.

• 
  You've got the standard colors,...
• 
  .. including the Lady Liberty variants.
• 
  But there are also others for Historic Districts, yet only these are recognized by any involved pages.
• 
  You've also got these that look like they're only in the Financial District of Manhattan.
• 
  Modern looking ones with a retro-hump in the middle seem big in Midtown, but there don't seem to be any standards.
• 
  Regulatory street signs seem to be a new thing.
• 
  Jamaica has two types of blue signs. You've got these kinds that look like old Bronx ones...
• 
  And then you have these music-oriented ones,

And of course you have the old black on yellow for Manhattan and Staten Island, blue on white for Queens, white on Blue for the Bronx, and White on Black for Brooklyn. The obvious answer is by borough, but since they're all the same style, that's easier said than done. This page shows a list of sign styles that are available for purchase from NYCDOT, so this may help. –Fredddie™ 03:13, 9 August 2019 (UTC)

Sadly, it doesn't. I split off the historic district-related ones, but I still have the others to figure out, including the jazz musician ones in Jamaica. I snapped a lot of those along the northbound service road of Van Wyck Expressway back in April. ----DanTD (talk) 02:27, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
