Commons:Flickr batch uploading/Global Photo Archive
Hi folks. I have been compiling a Global Photo Archive, all my own work, which now stands at 19,661 images from nearly 70 countries around the world. My art is a combination of street photography, documentary photography, portraiture, still lifes, landscapes, and more. All except one album (Rwanda - Genocide Sites) are under a Creative Commons license. You can find my full Flickr photostream at https://www.flickr.com/photos/adam_jones/.
Over 5,000 of these images are already uploaded to the category "Photos by Adam Jones" here on Wikimedia Commons. I don't know how many other images of mine are posted to Wikimedia but not included in this category.
What I'm hoping is that someone out there would work with me to ensure that all, or nearly all, the images in the Global Photo Archive are uploaded to Wikimedia. Both here and on Flickr, they have proved a very popular resource for educators, governmental and nongovernmental organizations, media/publishers, and artists/creators worldwide.
Is anyone able to take this on as a longer-term project? I believe the Global Photo Archive is a unique snapshot of the world at the outset of the 21st century, and I'd really like to ensure that the complete collection finds a permanent home on Wikimedia.
