Remove outlineEdit

  • I removed the background in the jpg, leaving a white background, and also created a png with transparent background from the same master file (because jpg doesn't support transparency).
The image quality is almost identical at full size (see file description pages to compare), but, annoyingly, Mediawiki/ImageMagick often creates 'blurry' thumbnails from png files, so which one you use is up to you. Personally, I'd stick with the jpg. -- Begoon 04:48, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Remove the shadowEdit

Please can you remove the shadow in the images?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk • contribs) 02:29, 14 October 2017‎ (UTC)
What shadow? Do you mean the reflection of the photographer Manoguru and the gallery walls in the glass protecting the painting?   — Jeff G. ツ 03:45, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

Ya, you're right. Both is disrupting the clear view of the portrait. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk • contribs) 10:28, 15 October 2017‎ (UTC)

  • IMO this is not a good candidate for improvement. The amount of changes required would render this no longer a true representation of the painting. It would be better to try to get another image of this than trying to warp this into a presentable image. I'm marking this request stale, the request will be here for ten more days till archival. If someone see the request and want to attempt to take on the request they can remove the stale tag, otherwise after those ten days this request will be archived. - Offnfopt(talk) 23:10, 9 November 2017 (UTC)

Emin ArslanEdit

Article(s): en:Emin Arslan

I think this 1910s picture of en:Emin Arslan can be edited and details of the glue (?) can be removed. Thank you. --Rafic.Mufid (talk) 13:47, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

"Are You Sure..." and "Bob Willis Is..." by Waylon Jennings (US vinyl)Edit

Article(s): en:Bob Wills Is Still the King and en:Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way

Should be taken from either discogs (1), discogs (2), or 45cat. Inner circle transparent; so should the background. If 45cat, the ones saying "Not for Sale" should not be used. --George Ho (talk) 20:06, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

PNG gamma problemsEdit

Article(s): Rom in Italia

please adjust wrong PNG gamma for thumbnails after GIMP manipulating and uploading to Commons
I have uploaded two images about Roma people in Italy I have enhanced with the GIMP. The first one has a correct brightness/contrast balance; the second one is by far too bright, even if it looked perfect on my PC (and also here, the problem seems to affect thumbnails only). What can I do to solve this problem? The folks at the Village pump weren't able to help me, they also said it is phab:T106516.--Carnby (talk) 12:38, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

Done Carnby: I converted it to jpg, which is a better format for continuous tone images anyway, so you may want to nominate the png for deletion. I've no idea why your corrected file did not work even after purging the page. Please mark the page with {{section resolved|1=~~~~}} if you are happy. Ww2censor (talk) 14:15, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

Thank you, I won't ask for deletion for the moment, I think it would be better to keep it as the "original image" while using the retouched in Wikimedia projects.--Carnby (talk) 16:57, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
