Today's media of the day (Okapi at disney)Edit

file:Okapia_johnstoni5.ogg the video has totally irrelevant audio, so maybe someone can remove that without recompressing the video? Richardprins (talk) 13:34, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Database error when calling WikiSense/Gallery.Edit

Hi all, I get a DB error, when I click the Gallery tab:

A database error has occurred Query: SELECT cl_to as cat FROM categorylinks LEFT JOIN u_daniel_cache.commonswiki_nontopics ON namespace = 14 AND title = cl_to where cl_from = 7170933 AND id IS NULL Function: getCategories Error: 1146 Table 'u_daniel_cache.commonswiki_nontopics' doesn't exist (sql-s2)

It looks like either the gallery.php script has changed or a DB table has been removed. Where's the right place to report this? Regards, --Burkhard (talk) 20:10, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

One place is , but they usually already know about the problem, unless it has only started occurring rather recently... AnonMoos (talk) 04:08, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Well I did not go away since yesterday - so I took it to Duesentriebs tool page talk. Thanx --Burkhard (talk) 07:49, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
In this case, the discussion appears to have been on the regular Commons:Village pump page... AnonMoos (talk) 14:23, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Le voyage dans la lune (1902)Edit

Can someone from the States upload this movie to the commons (ogg on I don't know how the Dutch copyright laws work exactly. It's a short film in the public domain, and it would make the articles about it better. It's only 49 MB. The author information is on the english wiki. Richardprins (talk) 23:24, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Mediawiki bug? Corrupted thumbnail for Image:Eicosanoid_synthesis.svgEdit

The image Image:Eicosanoid_synthesis.svg is rendered completely unreadably - when I open the SVG in firefox, it gets displayed properly, but the PNGs that mediawiki generates for thumbnails are all wrong. I've tried reuploading it, but there was no change in the thumbnail. There's a PNG version at [1] on the English wikipedia - should I replace references with the fixed PNG version right away, or is there something that can be done to fix these thumbnails? --Bdonlan (talk) 22:50, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

The page that comes up from Wikipedia with that SVG image says:
This media file needs to be cleaned up, because: An error in the
SVG rendering engine has scrambled this image.
For help, see Commons:Media for cleanup.
Kindly post there also. I am sure some specialist will be able to help clean it up. VasuVR (talk, contribs) 02:43, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

I have the same problem with two very simple files, File:Modular_pair.svg and File:Not_a_modular_pair.svg. There seems to be nothing relevant at Commons:Media for cleanup. The problem seems to affect only the text contained in the three files.

I found another affected file by simply searching for "svg": File:VerlinkungNormdatenWikipedia.svg. Some others are unaffected, e.g. File:Flat_File_Model.svg, File:OpenVMS_file_protection_bits.svg. Hans Adler (talk) 11:14, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
