The Contribution
Images in this contribution is a part of the project Connected Open Heritage, an initiative to preserve cultural heritage online and giving people all over the world easy access to it. Gruppo Archeologico Romano has collaborated with Wikimedia Italia and Wikimedia Sverige by releasing more than 400 images on Syria and Jordan on Wikimedia Commons.
Background
The pictures uploaded are from members of Gruppo Archelogico Romano, who visited Syria and Jordan mostly during the Nineties. Wikimedia Italia offered to help make the images available on the Wikimedia platforms as part of the Connected Open Heritage project.
