Commons:Wiki Loves Folklore 2021/Benin
Wiki Loves Folklore (Meta-Wiki: Wiki Loves Folklore) is an annual international photographic contest organized annually on Wikimedia Commons to document folk cultures in different regions of the world. The origin of the project started in 2018 from Commons:Wiki Loves Love 2019 in the theme of ceremonies and festivals of love. In 2021, Benin will participate for the first time to this contest.
Scope
editThis photography contest is focused on folk culture from Benin on categories, such as, but not limited to, folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, folk activities, folk games, folk cuisine, folk wear, folklore, and tradition, including ballads, folktales, fairy tales, legends, traditional song and dance, folk plays, games, seasonal events, calendar customs, folk arts, folk religion, mythology etc.
Prizes
edit- 1st prize: 150 USD
- 2nd prize: 100 USD
- 3rd prize: 50 USD
- Best Wikipedia contributor: 50 USD

editThis year Feminism and Folklore will focus on feminism, women biographies and gender focused-topics for the project in league with Wiki Loves Folklore gender gap focus with folk culture theme on Wikipedia.
Folklore - around the world, including, but not limited to folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, folk activities, folk games, folk cuisine, folk wear, fairy tales, folk plays, folk arts, folk religion, mythology, etc.
Women in folklore- includes but is not limited to, women and queer personalities in folklore, folk culture (folk artists, folk dancers, folk singers, folk musicians, folk game athletes, women in mythology, women warriors in folklores, witches and witch hunting, fairytales and more).
