Wiki Loves Folklore is an international photographic contest organized by Wikimedia community to document cultures in different regions of the world.

In Italy, for the contest which is organized by WikiDonne User Group, we are calling on people to drive into their photo archives or visit local sites with connections of Italian culture, folklore or storytelling and upload them to Italy's third Wiki Loves Folklore!

The basic aim of the competition is to collect photos of human cultural diversity to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation projects. The photos provided must match the theme, including, but not limited to festivals, material culture, dances, cuisine, clothing or daily life routine emphasizing on folk culture of Italy.

Scope

This photography contest is focused on folk culture from Italy on categories, such as, but not limited to, folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, folk activities, folk games, folk cuisine, folk wear, folklore, and tradition, including ballads, folktales, fairy tales, legends, traditional song and dance, folk plays, games, seasonal events, calendar customs, folk arts, folk religion, mythology etc.

Prizes

Awarding ceremony poster

Prizes and Certification will be awarded to the three best photographs, video and audio. The prizes will be in digital vouchers.

  • Prizes for best photos:
    • 1° place = 150 €
    • 2° place = 100 €
    • 3° prize = 50 €
  • Prize for best video:
    • 1 prize = 100 €
  • Prize for best audio:
    • 1 prize = 100 €

Everybody is allowed to participate, regardless of age, nationality and place of living, given he/she agrees to publish their work under Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.
