Welcome to the Wikimedia Commons portal for Wiki Loves Monuments!

Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) is a public photo competition around cultural heritage monuments, organized by Wikimedia chapters and groups. In 2010 it was organised in the Netherlands, and was followed by a Europe-wide 2011 edition. Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 and 2013 went global and was organised in several countries around the world, including Canada, Chile, India, Panama, Ghana, the Philippines, Russia, South Africa and the United States.

Why is my country not participating in 2014?

Wiki Loves Monuments is organized in a federative manner, which means the organization depends on volunteers in each country. Enthusiastic local teams get in contact with heritage organizations and authorities, create monuments lists in Wikipedia, contact partners and sponsors, and motivate the general public to participate. If your country did not participate last year, maybe you are interested to help make it happen this year? Just leave us a message at Commons talk:Wiki Loves Monuments 2014!
