Places to photograph edit

National Register of Historic Places edit

The Wikimedia Commons has a category of National Register of Historic Places in Texas.

The National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) is the federal government's official list of historic places that are deemed worthy of preservation.

Some 2,500 of the 90,000 NRHP sites are also recognized as National Historic Landmarks (NHL), which have outstanding historical significance.

Recorded Texas Historic Landmarks edit

Recorded Texas Historic Landmark (RTHL) is a designation awarded by the Texas Historical Commission (THC) for historically and architecturally significant properties in the state of Texas. RTHL is a legal designation and the highest honor the state can bestow on a historic structure. The THC oversees historic markers throughout the state, many which are located in the San Antonio area sometimes at sites which do not have a structure, but mark an important event in history.

State Antiquities Landmarks edit

The Texas Historical Commission recognizes State Antiquity Landmarks (SALs), with eligible sites including cultural resources on non-federal public land.

Historic Texas Cemeteries edit

The Texas Historical Commission recognizes Historic Texas Cemeteries (HTC), a list first developed in 1998.
