The Grand Mosque is a landmark nature can be seen from the Olumo Rock, one of the historic centres in Ogun State Nigeria It was built in 1925 on the site of the very first Mosque erected in the 1830s, on a piece of land donated by Oba Sodeke shortly after the Egbas had settled there. The irony is that this Islamic place of worship was designed by Afro-Brazilian returnees based on the architecture of the Baroque Colonial Churches in Brazil.
