Wiki Loves Public Space 2017 in Belgium is a photo contest in Belgium during the Summer months July and August 2017. During the contest you are welcome to upload photos from the public environment, including modern buildings, public artworks, cultural heritage monuments and memorials that are situated in Belgium. Participate by uploading photos from Belgium and enrich Wikipedia! الخلفيه The photo contest is possible for the first time during the full summer thanks to the law change on 15 July 2016. On that day Freedom of Panorama came into force which allows everyone to take photos of modern buildings and public artworks and publish them freely. Before this date, you had to ask permission from the architect or designer before you could legally publish your photos. The most famous example was the Atomium. Before 15 July 2016 we only could show a censored photo of the Atomium on Wikipedia, thanks to the law change on Wikipedia we now can show a photo of the national icon of Belgium. How to participate Step 1: Sign in or Create a New Account (if you have no account yet on Wikipedia/Commons) Step 2: Register here before you take photos, so we can inform you about the results and the prize ceremony Step 3: Go out and take photos Step 4: Click here to upload your photos After the contest period a jury will judge the photos and select the winning photos. During an award ceremony the winners will receive a prize. Conditions All entries must be your own work All photos must be uploaded within July or August 2017 to be eligible All photos must be freely licensed, preferably CC BY-SA 4.0 Photos do not contain a watermark (text added by the photographer) Participants have registered in the contest with an active email account
