Commons:Zentralbibliothek Zürich
As a university library the Zentralbibliothek collects academic literature on all the subjects taught at the University of Zurich, with a special focus on the liberal arts and social sciences. As the Turicensia guardian it collects all publications published by Zurich-based publishing houses, all works of Zurich-based authors and all literature on Zurich itself. As city and cantonal library the ZB also offers a wide selection of popular literature – from travel guides and self-help books to biographies, crime thrillers, DVDs and sound recordings. The ZB's five Special Collections – Prints/Drawings/Photo Archive, Manuscripts, Maps, Music and Rare Books – boast a wealth of historical and current archives, bequests, image and sound documents.
We would like to present four groups from our extensive collections: single-leaf broadsheets, Landscapes, Portraits and Cultural/ Historical Material.

How Can You Help? edit
- Categorize the uploaded files: Check out the Quick Guide to get started; use tools like "HotCat" or "Cat-a-lot" to work more effectively.
- Complete the metadata, check it for accuracy, correct it. The description page of each picture contains a link to the corresponding catalog entry at Zentralbibliothek Zürich. The section "Details" contains more detailed information as well as categorization tags (in German).
- Add the uploaded pictures to existing Wikipedia articles in various languages where appropriate; create a cropped version of the picture if you think a cropped version would better serve the illustrative purposes. Use Cropbot for lossless cropping of JPG-files. The Glamorous Tool provides a good overview about which pictures have already been used in which Wikipedia articles.
- Improve existing articles that are related to the uploaded pictures or create new articles (in various language versions). Spread the word on related talk pages or project pages.
- Complete the Wikidata entries related to the upload/cooperation.
- If you would like to ask a question or to raise an issue you have encountered, please leave a note on the talk page.
- Expand this list if you find other useful things to do.
