Unhandled Exception

edit

I voted in the first couple categories, and now I'm getting the following message:

Unhandled Exception

An unhandled exception was thrown by the application.

I can no longer continue to vote. Dori - Talk 17:12, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I get the same message, but I haven't voted at all. --Ganchelkas 17:31, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
In that case, someone probably made some change to the software and broke it. Dori - Talk 18:07, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tried to register and got same error. --Raul6 18:07, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Same error when trying to go to URL sent via email after getting a token a few days ago. Same error when requesting a token now. -- Jeandré, 2008-01-10t18:36z

Same message when trying to get the token. Ekki01 19:19, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Me three. ;) No, it´s not funny. I have the same bug. Chaddy 21:27, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
This seems to be fixed for now, so if you get this error again please report it at Commons talk:Picture of the Year/2007/Committee. thanks pfctdayelise (说什么?) 11:52, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
After reconforming my e-mail-adress, the tool is working now. But until yet, I did not receive any e-mail and that for hours... Chaddy 13:09, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
The mail was in my spam folder... Chaddy 13:11, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Aditionally to that error (if't its fixed now, allright) I have to complain, that I tried to get a token before the vote started. The software did not say to early, try again later, there were an unspecific error and after some retrying it said already sent twice, no more e-mail will be sent. But it did not send e-mails. So my account was not usable anymore to vote. I had to use my account on another wiki to get the e-mail sent (that second try was after the vote started). And with that account I ran into above-mentioned exception. Very buggy this vote. --::Slomox:: >< 11:57, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is there a bug in the voting?

edit

I reviewed this just now and it's incomplete.[1] My participation showed up last night right after I voted, but I'm not on the list of voters anymore. Are you losing data? Durova 19:54, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

List is now down for me (with an email to bug report too)...not sure what's up. I think Bryan is onto it though. Giggy 02:55, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
You're looking at the wrong link. The correct link is http://stable.ts.wikimedia.org/poty/vote?action=list&token=&list=users . -- Bryan (talk to me) 09:18, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I clicked on the link that was given. Perhaps it needs to be corrected? Durova 09:29, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hm, I'm not sure where you got your link (it points to the regular toolserver rather than the stable one), so if you see that link again please correct it or contact us so we can. pfctdayelise (说什么?) 11:54, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
It was on the /Voting page. I corrected it in all language versions. Patrícia msg 12:07, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Accounts on MediaWiki.org eligible to vote?

edit

Are accounts on MediaWiki.org eligible to vote? A banner advertising the contest was placed on mw:Project:Help over there, but MediaWiki.org is not on the drop-down list on the voting page.--71.237.238.25 08:38, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, yes you should be eligible to vote. A problem is that the bot that sends voting tokens via email is called mw:User:CommonsDelinker2 on mediawiki and just "CommonsDelinker" everywhere else. So it should be renamed first and then we can add the mediawiki option to the database and this list. Sorry about the inconvenience. If you (or someone else in the same boat) don't wish to wait, please email me and I will try and get a token generated for you ASAP. pfctdayelise (说什么?) 13:42, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hello, I'm sure you will be overjoyed to know that you can now vote via your mediawiki.org account. :) Thanks for your patience. pfctdayelise (说什么?) 14:42, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Detailed instructions

edit

Most voters will succeed using the instructions as they are, but in case some participants need more detailed instructions I've written a step-by-step procedure and saved it here. Please use it if you feel it is worthwhile. Fg2 11:42, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
