RfC vs. VPP?

edit

RfC vs. VPP? What is the difference? Btw: I hope we do not import all bloated enwp processes and template names. ;-) --Saibo (Δ) 23:25, 9 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

VPP is a general noticeboard for proposals. It can be for kicking around ideas, or for seriously discussing a specific proposal. RFC is for general discussion of anything. Rd232 (talk) 23:48, 9 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! So RfC is VP? Probably "Meinungsbild" is not a good translation then. Meinungsbilder are the most powerful polls in dewp. Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 00:02, 10 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
"RFC is VP" - what does that mean? I took Meinungsbild from the interwiki links of en:WP:RFC. Rd232 (talk) 01:24, 10 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
You said that RfC "is for general discussion of anything" - so it is the same (scope, use) as COM:VP. --Saibo (Δ) 01:35, 10 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Except that (a) COM:VP is a noticeboard, and RFC has two options which are different (subpage, or section in any talkpage) (b) COM:VP is for the English language community for all sorts of issues large and small, and RFC is intended to be for more important issues and trying to bring in all language communities. RfC or RFC?

edit

"Requests for comment (RfC)" is on the front page - but COM:RfC is red. Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 22:57, 19 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Nobody knows. :) But a redirect is easily made, so... Rd232 (talk) 01:28, 20 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
How pragmatic... ;-) And I thought you are en-n?! :-P Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 02:56, 20 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
This section is resolved and can be archived. If you disagree, replace this template with your comment. Saibo (Δ) 02:56, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
