Commons talk:Volunteer Response Team/proposed changes

Users who sent a permission to OTRS can use {{PermissionOTRS|id=ticketid}} if they know the ticket of their request/email.

This sentence isn't clear. I think we should avoid to encourage people to use this template if they only have a ticket number. They must also have a clear approval of an OTRS volunteer. One can have a ticket number as soon as a volunteer give an answer (even if he/she rejects the permission).--Bapti 21:49, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Only OTRS agents should be adding this template. - Rjd0060 (talk) 15:15, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. I had wondered why it was there. J.smith (talk) 00:41, 2 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Better to remove the section "Templates to use on image pages" in order to add the informations in the others sections, I guess.--Bapti 16:40, 2 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, that works. J.smith (talk) 15:40, 3 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Flickr

edit

I found the image on Flickr and it was released under a free license there. Commons has a procedure in place for reviewing those images. Make sure a link to the image is in the description and mark it with {{flickrreview}}.

I think this is too naive. I would rather say You need an OTRS ticket when it is clear that the Flickr uploader is not or is not the sole author of the depicted work. Each author different from the Flick uploader should send a personal permission Email.

Our toolbox is really rather limited in dealing with images where the original source is unknown. If it's clear flicker washing, then just nominate it for deletion. --J.smith (talk) 00:54, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

OTRS wiki ?

edit

You write see also m:OTRS/permissions-en-guide, but m:OTRS/permissions-en-guide is a REDIRECT to http://otrs-wiki.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page where one reads :

"This wiki is used as a private workspace"

So is it a place where everyone can find information or a private place ? Teofilo (talk) 21:32, 11 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good point - I've removed it. There used to be something more there, but it was removed in favor of a redirect. Yes, the space is private as it deals with sensitive information. --J.smith (talk) 00:46, 12 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
