Summary edit

Description

"The donated blood of Women Marines, filling Red Cross jugs destined for the battlefronts, is symbolic of their pledge to support the fighting men they released for action. Marine Sergeant Doris Hayes, Rankin, Pennsylvania, became a member of the "Gallon Club" when she donated her eighth pint of blood while on recruiting duty in Atlanta, Georgia. Pictured with her is Nurse Alice Horton."
