Summary
editDescription"Corpse road" - geograph.org.uk - 591702.jpg |
English: "Corpse road?" I was led to believe, although I don't know for certain, that this track was a "corpse road" down which coffins were brought from Filkins for burial at Broadwell prior to the mid 19th century when Filkins didn't have its own church and was part of Broadwell parish. It is now mainly used by farm vehicles, horse riders, and walkers. The track runs for about half a mile from the tree towards the left of the photo, where it meets the B4477, to Broadwell. |
