Om kunstneren:

Gustav Lærum, født 1870, død 1938, født i Fet, norsk tegner og billedhugger. Begynte som karikaturtegner i Krydseren, Korsaren, Vikingen og Tyrihans og leverte portretter til Verdens Gang og Ørebladet, samlet i Fra Uret til Grand og Norske Politici. Han illustrerte også bøker av Elias Kræmmer. Som billedhugger utførte han Eidsvollsmonumentet ved Eidsvoll stasjon (1928), Olav den hellige i Sarpsborg (1916) og en rekke naturalistiske portrettstatuer: av veidirektør Hans Krag på Voksenkollen og Georg Stang på Vår Frelsers gravlund, begge 1909, Henrik Angell på Holmenkollen 1923 og Gunnar Knudsen på Borgestad 1931.
