English: "Nell Gwyn's Monument" - Obelisk in Tring Park. This obelisk in the woods that rise above Tring Park is known locally as "Nell Gwyn's Monument" - though I am unaware of any verifiable connection to the Merry Monarch's Merry Maid ! It is thought to have been designed by the architect James Gibbs along with the classical Summer House at the other end of a short ride from this obelisk. Sadly at present both monuments are marred by the mindless red daubings of local idiots.
