'Haunted window' of The Black Horse Inn, Nuthurst

Summary edit

Description
English: Upstairs window of the Black Horse Inn public house, one of Sussex's most haunted pubs, on Nuthurst Street in Nuthurst, West Sussex, England.

In this window at the front of the building is often seen the ghostly face of a young woman who is believed met an untimely death, locals knowledge stating she was one of the pub's serving maids or female occupants of the cottages before they were converted as part of today's inn. The Black Horse is also haunted by a local murderer who drank here and moves items across a table: see 'Haunted table' of The Black Horse Inn; by the ghost of 'Nuthurst Ned' who late at night still calls for his owner by stamping and scraping his hoofs and snorting; and by the apparition of the feral 'Black Hound of Nuthurst' who died on Black Hound Weir at the back of the pub.
