'Mayflower support coach' 35479 supporting 'Braunton' 34046 for a Goodwood Revival excursion

Summary edit

Description
English: 'Mayflower support coach' 35479 supporting 'Braunton' 34046 for a Goodwood Revival excursion. It is a common practice for a steam locomotive to bring a support coach when away from base to bring a supply of parts, consumables, and tools as well as providing team facilities. Locomotive Services Limited (LS) acquired the Mayflower locomotive in June 2022 along with tour operator Steam Dreams. Mayflower was originally to have worked this excursion but need air brakes fitted so Braunton was selected as substitute. This is taken from the footbridge over Chichester reception sidings where the train is to be stabled until a working to Southampton. The coach livery is a British Rail maroon livery that would be typical for 1950s/1960s. It can be seen this coach is limited to 90mph which is no problem for supporting this steam engine which is restricted to 75 mph
