Description
English: Princess Marianne of the Netherlands lived from 1845 until her death in 1883 in Rusthof House in the municipality of Voorburg, the Netherlands. In 1845 Marianne had left her husband and the city of Berlin to settle in Voorburg. Here she lived openly with her coachman, Johannes van Rossum. Shortly after her official separation from Prince Albert of Prussia, she bore Van Rossums son in 1849, and named him Johannes Willem van Reinhartshausen (1849-1861). Even at that time it was already widely known who the father was. In 1849 Prince Albert Jr. en the two other (surviving) children from her marriage to the Prince of Prussia joined her in Voorburg.
