Description
Français : Autres titres : Édifice de la Compagnie de pouvoir du Bas-Saint-Laurent, 190, avenue de la Cathédrale, Rimouski. Description : En 1923, Jules-A. Brillant achète le Crédit Municipal Canadien qui assurait le service d'électricité depuis 1905. Il fait construire l'immeuble pour servir de siège social à sa nouvelle entreprise, la Compagnie du Pouvoir du Bas-Saint-Laurent. La compagnie Québec-Téléphone fait l'acquisition de l'édifice en 1967 après la nationalisation des compagnies d'électricité par le gouvernement provincial. Elle le nomme l'édifice Paul-Émile-Gagnon en l'honneur d'un important associé de monsieur Brillant.
