Description
English: In the mandorla, Christ in majesty is represented with open arms, as a sign of welcome and blessing. Above his head the angels who bless him in the heavenly cloud signify that he is in paradise. At his bedside, he is praised by angels, a sign of holiness. At his feet he is surrounded by an angel carrying instruments of passion, sign of forgiveness of sins, and an angel carrying a sword, symbol of the Last Judgment. To the left (at his right), as the tradition wants, the virgin prays for the souls of the resuscitated. To the right, Saint John the apostle whom Jesus loved. Further down, on the lintel is represented the Resurrection of the Deads.
