Description
Deutsch: Deutscher Farbdruck der Insel Sint Eustatius. Text in Deutsch und Französisch. Die Form der Schiffe deutet darauf hin, dass als Vorlage ein älteres Bild, wahrscheinlich aus dem späten siebzehnten Jahrhundert, verwendet wurde.
Die Insel St. Eustatius wurde durch die englische Flotte im Februar 1781 eingenommen und von den Truppen des Admirals George Rodney geplündert.
Als sog. Guckkastenblatt ist die Kopfzeile spiegelverkehrt.
English: German print color of the island of St. Eustatius. Text in French and German. The shape of the vessels suggests the resumption of an older image, probably from the late seventeenth century.
