Ελληνικά: Το αγγούρι είναι καρπός φυτού της ίδιας οικογένειας με τα φυτά που παράγουν το πεπόνι, το καρπούζι και το κολοκύθι. Είναι καρπός του ετήσιου φυτού της αγγουριάς που έρπει και αναρριχάται. Έχουν φύλλα μεγάλα, παλαμοειδή και οδοντωτά με πέντε λοβούς, γκρίζα στη κάτω επιφάνεια και βαθειά πράσινα στην επάνω. Οι βλαστοί είναι τραχείς με γωνιές και πάντοτε έρποντες. Τα άνθη είναι μάλλον μικρά, κίτρινα και χωριστά το ένα γένος από το άλλο, Οι καρποί είναι κυλινδρικοί, συνήθως, ακανόνιστοι και διαφόρου μεγέθους, με φλοιό ομαλό ή με εξογκώματα ακανθωτά και χρώμα πράσινο βαθύ μέχρι λευκό. Οι σπόροι είναι μακρουλοί και ασπριδεροί, πολύ όμοιοι με εκείνους της πεπονιάς. |
