English: Trilobites are extinct arthropods that dominated the bentic faunas of the oceans of the Early Palaeozoic. The chitinous exoskeleton of trilobites was a reinforced by of calcite and calcium phosphate. Consequently, such exosceletons are easily fossilized and providing extensive fossil record of extinct marine faunas. The trilobite (likely to Megistapsis) on the our picture was found during field trip on the Lower Ordovician deposits of Oslo Graben.
